This unit introduces learners to hydrogen (all variations) vehicle technology including, and in particular, the safety requirements of working on these types of vehicles, e.g. whilst carrying out routine vehicle servicing, general repairs that are not related to the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle components.

Note: This unit does not prove that someone is competent to work on the hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle system, and assumes an already good level of electrical understanding.

Modules

It contains one mandatory unit covering knowledge of:

Hydrogen vehicle system components and operation hazards surrounding hydrogen vehicles. How to reduce the risks to yourself and others when working on hydrogen vehicles. Safely preparing the vehicle when carrying routine maintenance (NOT high voltage components or systems)

Who is this course for?

This course is suitable for anyone who might, in their day to day work, come into regular contact with hydrogen, electric, hybrid vehicles. As employers you have a responsibility for anyone handling electricity as part of their job role.

What existing knowledge is needed?

No previous qualifications are required, but a general knowledge of vehicles is useful.
